3D Screening Mammogram
3D screening mammograms take images of the breast from multiple angles. A computer then creates a 3D image of the breast that the radiologist can examine like pages in a book. Staff use curved paddles which mirrors the shape of a woman’s breast and allows for uniform compression to reduce discomfort. Additional benefits include:
- Improves radiologists' ability to screen for and detect potential breast cancers.
- Helps radiologists pinpoint size, shape and location of abnormalities.
- Aids in distinguishing harmless abnormalities from real tumors, leading to fewer callbacks and less anxiety for women.
- 3D mammograms can also find microcalcifications (tiny deposits of calcium) that sometimes indicate the presence of breast cancer.
Screening mammograms and diagnostic mammograms are available along with breast ultrasound.
Bone Density
Bone health is an important part of a person’s overall health, and women especially are at risk. Bone mineral density tests:
- For bone loss and osteoporosis
- How well osteoporosis medicine is working
- Predict your risk of future bone fractures.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic resonance imaging is used in radiology to take pictures of the body and organs. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body
Electrocardiogram (EKG)
Electrocardiogram (EKG) is used to record the heart's electrical activity and check for different heart conditions. Electrodes are placed on the patient’s chest to record the heart's electrical signals which are shown as waves on an attached computer monitor.
CT Perfusion
CT Perfusion is fast, painless, noninvasive and accurate. It's a useful technique for measuring blood flow to the brain, which may be important for treating stroke, brain blood vessel disease and brain tumors.
Computerized Tomography (CT)
Computerized Tomography (CT) scans combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays.
