At Texas Health we know there is a lot that goes into preparing for your little one’s arrival. To help make the upcoming months, before and after baby’s arrival, as stress-free as possible, we encourage you to preregister for your delivery in advance. You can complete the process anytime during your pregnancy, but the sooner the better. If you’ve reached the 4-month mark, it’s a great time to cross this off your baby to-do list.
How to preregister
You can preregister online at TexasHealth.org/MyChart or via the Texas Health MyChart app (Google Play or Apple App Store). Once you’ve logged into your Texas Health MyChart account, click the menu button, and select “Register for My Delivery.”
If you don’t have a Texas Health MyChart account, you can create one now. If you need help, please call 877-773-2368 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What happens after I preregister?
A member of the preadmissions team will follow-up with you by phone or email to confirm your preregistration and go over any questions you may have. They may also talk with you about delivery-related costs. This includes your estimated deductible, co-insurance or non-covered charges.

Why should I preregister?
Preregistering from the comfort of your home will help make check-in go smoother when you arrive at the hospital. During preregistration you will verify your personal information and complete the registration questionnaire.
Preregistering can also help you know what to expect financially. Whether you have coverage or not, our pre-admissions team can tell you estimated costs early in the process. This can help you be prepared and be able to make payments before your delivery date.
-
What will I need when I preregister?
Make sure you have the following information on hand when you begin the preregistration process:
- Your personal contact information
- Health insurance information, or other coverage (upload a front and back copy)
- Driver’s license or other government-issued ID (upload a front and back copy)
- Social Security number
- Employer information
- Physician information
- Emergency contact information
- Subscriber name, date of birth and employer name (if different than patient)
-
How long does it take to preregister?
It takes 20 minutes (or less) to preregister.
-
How far in advance can I preregister?
You can preregister anytime during your pregnancy, but the sooner the better. The 4-month mark is a great-time to get this done and will allow time for Texas Health’s pre-admissions team to contact you to discuss delivery-related costs, your insurance coverage, payment options and any questions you may have.
-
I’m unable to create a Texas Health MyChart account, can I still preregister?

What should I expect for delivery costs?
Billing for your delivery will depend on the services you receive while in the hospital. Hospital costs may include your delivery and recovery in addition to your baby’s. The hospital costs do not include provider costs. Provider costs may include your physician, anesthesiologist, pediatrician, and other providers. If you pay a deposit during pre-admission, it will reduce the amount you are billed for later.
-
Why am I being asked to pay before my delivery?
Depending on your coverage and benefits, you may be responsible for some costs. This may be your deductible, coinsurance, copay or non-covered charges. We will usually ask you to pay a deposit on what you are expected to pay. If you do not have coverage or benefits and are using our Package Price, it must be paid in full before delivery.

What if I need financial assistance, who do I contact?
We understand that healthcare costs can be difficult for patients and families to manage. If you need to make financial arrangements, please call 877-773-2368 and you will be put in touch with a financial concierge for assistance.
