Driving rehabilitation is a specialized program led by occupational therapists and is designed to identify and rehabilitate patients with driving deficits. The goal is to help individuals improve their community independence by assuring a safe return to driving.
Driving evaluations include clinic-based tests, driving simulator assessments (Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth location only), vision testing and on-the-road training (Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital location only). Referrals to a company for the installation of adaptive equipment in the patient’s personal vehicle are also available.
